Evenings of Freedom

Every evening after dinner, and a substantial amount of play time, I'll let the little boos run around the house for a bit.

Their three favorite things are chasing Hudson (our rottie/lab mix), inspecting shoes, and chewing on some errant pieces of wicker sticking out of a footstool in the living room. They LOVE this stool. They scoot their little bodies under it and defy my every attempt to get them to play with and chew on something else.

I just stumbled across your blog. The pups are all so cute! It is wonderful that you are fostering these little babies. I hope you find super homes for all of them. I am a huge bully breed fan and have fostered many myself. Keep up the great work!

About the Foster Puppies

Welcome to the foster puppy site for The Buster Foundation Pit Bull Rescue!

In July 2009, Buster rescued a litter of 2-week old abandoned pit bull puppies from a vacant house in Detroit, Michigan. After the group's remarkable efforts to revive and care for the waning litter, we agreed to foster three of the puppies--two boys and one girl- until they are ready to be adopted. This is a record of their foster experience.

8/25- George 7 lbs., Peaches 6.4, Ralphie 6
8/24- George 6.8 lbs., Peaches 6.4, Ralphie 5.8
8/22- George 6.4 lbs., Peaches 5.8 lbs., Ralphie 5.2 lbs.
8/20- George 6.2 lbs., Peaches 5.6 lbs., Ralphie 5 lbs.

Health and Nutrition

8/21- Energy levels are high. Play times last longer. Meals are spread further apart now, and naps are much shorter. Everybody had baths tonight, and nobody was happy about it.
8/20- Puppies are officially eating just a mix of dry and wet food with a tiny bit of warm water to soften it. No more formula. Ralphie also seems to be eating a little more now.
8/19- Doing well with the eating still. Had a small meal late, around 10pm and that was the first since running out of formula. Nobody seemed to mind. Everybody's fur and skin continues to look healthier and thicker.
8/18- Everybody is eating well, drinking well, and well . . pooping well. Sorry, but it's important info! Ralphie and George really hate the antibiotics, but the good news is that everybody's skin and fur seems to be doing well. Even spotty little Ralphie seems to be looking a whole lot better.
8/17- Keeping an eye on skin condition. Little flecks on Peaches and George, but not much at all. Ralphie is still pretty spotted. Trying to watch him closely for any changes.
8/17- Everybody is eating well and drinking tons of water. Pigged out at morning feeding. Ate most of 2nd feeding. Ate very little at 3rd feeding and then immediately went back to sleep. Giving antibiotics in late morning and again in evening. Food is currently mix of dry, canned, and extra diluted formula.
