Day 3: Morning Circus

Note to self: The sprinklers come on at 6am.

This morning wasn't the smoothest, perhaps. The little nuggets ate a pretty substantial meal at 8pm last night, so everybody was ready to go to the bathroom again when they woke up this morning. Unfortunately it was raining and the sprinklers came on just as I woke them up. Somebody had already done the deed on the pads in the crate, which was fine . . . until everybody woke up and went stampeding through it, creating a poopy paws extravaganza. Just as I would get one mess cleaned up, somebody else would go. I must have gone through 5 or 6 pads in a matter of minutes.

Once everybody ate and did their routine outside again, a raucous 40 minutes of play time began that shook the crate and involved the destruction of several pee pads.

Big George in particular is going to be a BIG handful. Whoever decides to adopt this little porker really needs to know their stuff and be prepared for lots of patience and consistency with training. He's getting very familiar with commands like "Settle" and "No Bites" and he's getting a few time-outs here and there for aggressive play.

I'm working on giving him some 1-on-1 time, but even that takes some coaxing and calming with this little hellion.
