Moose is loving life these days and I am loving having him. Thank you Buster Foundation for such a wonderful puppy! Here you can see he fits (and blends) right in to his new yard.

Fashion Plates, Goofy Faces, and Bunny Ears

The gaggle of pittie puppies was together again today for their final round of vaccinations before final adoption. We had some goofy pups like lanky Moose (1st pic below); some playful pups with bunny ears like Peaches and Malu (2nd and 3rd pics below); and some fashion statements like Vito (formerly known as Jasper) strutting his new hoodie.

However, it was little Miss Fergie (above), with her peach fuzz thin fur, who stole the show in her trendy pink winter parka.

Moose Update

Just some pictures of life with Moose. Above he shows off his "sit" skills. Then below he takes on the world of sticks in my backyard.

While Moose loves sticks, his true favorite is the tie-out his older sister has to be on. I know I shouldn't laugh, but it is hilarious when he tries to pull her around the yard. Good thing she puts up with his antics!

Then to prepare for the cold weather, Moose got a new coat. He hates wearing it.

And finally, my favorite time of day: Puppy nap time!

Peach on the Beach

We just took an impromptu weekend trip to Saugatuck, MI with all three of the dogs--Hudson, Charlie and the Peach. Thanks to the Park House Inn for providing a dog-friendly cottage and owners who love the pups!

Most importantly, Peaches went for her first real big girl walk with the older dogs. We walked all around downtown for a good 30 minutes. But perhaps the highlight of the trip was the opportunity to let Peach run like a mad woman up and down the empty Lake Michigan shoreline. She dug in the sand, ran through tidal pools, and snacked on nasty fish heads which we could never swipe from her fast enough! For those looking to travel with their dogs, we highly recommend Saugatuck . . . and so does Peach.

The Learning Curve

Moose is figuring out how to get around the house much better (and quicker). I also wanted to try out sharing a video - hopefully with more coming soon! He's climbing the steps like a pro!

And as a bonus picture, here is Moose and his big sister. I obviously do not have enough toys for them! They seem bored.

A Love Affair Unfolds

Peaches continues to woo Kitty on a daily basis as part of their on-again, off-again love affair. Well, okay, it's more like a fatal attraction thing: the attraction is all on Peaches' end, and it will be fatal to her if she doesn't heed the warnings of the small white tiger that lives in our home.

However, Kitty did engage in a brief moment of mutual interest during our walk yesterday when he decided to attack her leash . . . which Peach found somewhat disconcerting.

The Peach Transition

Now that the fall weather can be officially classified as a tad frigid, the house training for Peaches is in full swing. It's been about 5 years since we house trained our last puppy during winter time. Just long enough to forget how oh so challenging it can be, especially without a fenced yard. I finally made a run to the craft store last night to buy a couple bells to tie onto the door for training. Let's hope our other dogs don't exploit it while Peach is learning the ropes.

Despite the challenges, we all love having little Peach in the house, and we especially love nap time.

Addendum

Approximately 2.5 seconds after Moosie got in the car after the puppy party he was sound asleep.

Which one of these is not like the other?

We got the gang back together again for booster shots and some quality play time today. Along with our wild litter of seven was Mr. Jaxson, our little dairy cow man who also recently had the good fortune of finding a loving new home. Coincidentally it looks like he'll be all set for Halloween if we can just strap on some fake udders and a cow bell.

Most of my pictures from today seem to be of him doing his best to outrun the other puppies trying to steal his stick.
And of course we also mingled with some of our favorite adult pitties today too. Sweet Face did her best to flirt with Joe (first pic below). And meanwhile the lovely red lady, Coco, strutted her stuff on the jungle gym (although she had a tad bit of trouble getting down) and she might have even met a potential adopter!

Who Needs Stairs Anyway

Moose is learning new things everyday! Unfortunately, he seems to also forget a lot.

While he has gone down the stairs to the back yard only a few times on his own, he does know how to run right up them when he is ready to be inside. (If it is raining, especially.) But now it seems he needs to be reminded of how to do this almost every time we are outside!

Good Sit, Peach!

Peaches and I are out working on her leash training everyday, which I also try to exploit for some picture-taking opportunities. Unfortunately offering her a treat is the only way to get her to face the camera on leash. Sitting is one thing she's learned very quickly, given the pay offs.

The Bunny Ears Are Back

While still not quite as consistent or dramatic as George's previous case of the bunny ears (see below), Peaches has definitely got some rabbit ears popping up here and there.

They seem to make an appearance most often when we're wandering around outside, and it tends to be one ear at a time as opposed to two. But I will say that Peaches looks considerably more rabbit-like than George, who was just a big rolly polly, chubby puppy with ears that stood up.

Spotlight on Snickers and Fergie

Of the original litter of seven puppies rescued at 10 days old, there are now two remaining who have yet to find their adoptive homes: Snickers and Fergie.

Here are a few pics of these lovely little ladies:

Snickers (above) is essentially a bigger, darker, and wilder version of Miss Peaches. She shared a foster home with her brother, Baxter, and loves rough housing with other dogs.

Fergie (below) is a darker caramel color and has a big white raindrop falling from the middle of her eyes down around her muzzle, setting her apart from her siblings in terms of appearances. She also regularly played hard, and often beat up, her foster brother Jasper, and loves spending time with her new foster puppy brother, Cooper.

Now we just need to find these two gals a couple of loving homes ready for some serious puppy action!
