In the last 24 hours, we have gone from a 3-puppy home to a 1-puppy home . . . that remaining puppy being sweet Peach.
Both Ralphie (possibly to be renamed Moose) and Georgie (now named Malu, after Troy Polamalu of the Steelers and USC) went home with their new families yesterday. Both boys now have older sisters who will be able to keep them in check and show them the ropes.
As difficult as it was to let the boys go, a sudden and blissful calm has washed over our home. Interestingly, without additional siblings to compete with for food and attention, Peaches simply can't create the constant frenzy that all three were able to maintain. She was a perfect guest while we visited at a family member's house last night, even rolling over and submitting for their cat. And she happily and quietly slept through the night alone in her crate last night.
The daily pace that we've had to maintain around here has now been cut in half. Whew.
